10.12.13 Warm Start to October

October begins on a very warm note.
Under sunny skies high temperatures climbed into the low 70s across much of the Champlain Valley and Northern New York Saturday. At Burlington International, where official National Weather Service records are kept, Saturday marked another above average temperature day. So far, every day in October has been above average. The monthly average in Burlington is now more than 6 degrees above normal!

The average high for this time of year is 59, so highs in the low 70s is more typical of early September. Speaking of September, last month ended up being slightly below average (-0.3 degrees). It's the only month this year to be cooler than it should be.

Highs on Sunday will be warm again, in the 60s and low 70s. In fact, 60s will stick around all week. We won't fall back to, or below average, until next weekend!
