2014 Law Enforcement Torch Run

BURLINGTON, Vt. - Before the opening ceremonies of the Special Olympics Vermont 2014 Summer Games, four torches traveled to Burlington from all Vermont.

This was part of the 2014 Law Enforcement Torch Run.

There were four different routes. About 250 people took part over several days.

"Special Olympics Torch Run is the largest grass roots fundraising organization for Special Olympics. But it's also about awareness, the abilities of the athletes. They train hard. They're very proud of what they do. We want to come out and support them," says Bill Cunningham, from the Vermont Air National Guard.

The run is part of a year of fundraising. The organization raises about 75-thousand dollars for Special Olympics Vermont.
