4.8.14 Mars Opposition

Mars will appear very bright in the Tuesday night sky.
After a mostly cloudy day, there will be some gradual clearing Tuesday night. If you do catch a break in the clouds, look up!

Mars is in opposition tonight, that means it's aligned with the sun and the Earth. Because of that, the red planet appears ten times brighter than the brightest star.

It's a neat sight to see, that happens every 26 months.

Mars rises in the east just after sunset, and will set in the west around sunrise Wednesday.
