The weather was ideal for cheese lovers who headed to the Vermont Cheese Festival Sunday.
SHELBURNE, Vt. - The weather was ideal for cheese lovers who headed to the Vermont Cheese Festival today.
More than 40 cheese makers turned out for the 5th annual festival at Shelburne Farms and more than 1,500 people came to sample their products.
Cheese makers of all shapes and sizes, even small family farms were represented.
For many attendees it was a chance to try out those hard to find varieties.
"There are a lot of small production cheeses that you just, unless you're their neighbor or you go to their farmers market, your never going to see it. So this is just a wonderful opportunity for folks to taste lots of exciting different things."
Along with the cheeses on display, there was a farmers market set up inside the carriage house.
Everything from beer to jam was rubbing shoulders with the delicious cheeses.
