7.27.13 Losing Light...Sadly

We're in the middle of summer, but we're losing light at a good clip.
Summer boasts the longest days of the year. Back in June, just as summer began, we basked in 15 hours and 31 minutes of daylight. Now, more than a month later, we're losing light at an increasing pace.

As of today our total daylight in Burlington is 14 hours and 47 minutes. Each day we're losing 2 minutes of daylight- and that amount lost increases every day until late September when we start losing 3 minutes a day. Depressing, I know.

Sunrise right now is 5:32 AM, and sunset is 8:20 PM.

By mid-December our daylight is down to just 8 hours and 51 minutes, with a sunrise around 7:20 AM and sunset around 4:10 PM.

Enjoy the light while it lasts!
