8.10.13 August Starts Cool

August has started off cooler than average.
Meteorological summer runs from June through August, and so far this has been another warmer than normal season in Burlington. Remember that in the past two years, only one month has been below average (November 2012).

June's average temperature was 66.4, just +0.6 degrees above average. In July the average was 73.8, a more impressive 3.2 degrees above average.

But August is bucking the warm trend. So far the monthly average is 69.7 [-0.3]. Of course there's plenty of time for that to change, but the next few days are likely to be at or just below normal as well. Below is a listing of high temperatures so far this month, with the average temperature in brackets for reference.
