After a wet spring and early summer, August is running dry so far.
After an exceptionally wet spring and summer, August is actually running dry in most places. A refreshing change for many!

August rainfall totals are as follows [departure from average]:

Bennington, VT: 2.64" [+0.42"]
Saranac Lake, NY: 2.55" [+0.49"]
Burlington, VT: 2.08" [-0.08"]
Morrisville, VT: 2.07" [-0.14"]
Springfield, VT: 1.48" [-0.52"]
Montpelier, VT: 1.44" [-0.90"]
St. Johnsbury, VT: 1.36" [-1.11"]

Those deficits are likely to grow over the next few days as we enjoy bright, dry conditions. Our next chance of rain won't arrive until late Thursday and Thursday night. Enjoy!
