8.24.13 Chilly Nights Continue

Chilly nights and warm days continue.
Cool, refreshing nights have been the rule lately. Last night was no exception. Check out some of the lows/highs around the region.

Saranac Lake, NY: 34/73
Bennington, VT: 41/76
Montpelier, VT: 44/73
Rutland, VT: 44/73
Lebanon, NH: 44/78
St. Johnsbury, VT: 45/73
Burlington, VT: 49/78

We'll be similarly cool tonight, and similarly mild again during the day Sunday. The big swings in daily temperature are normal for this type of weather pattern featuring clear skies and calm winds. Under clear skies heat can quickly escape from Earth's surface. Dry air, as we have in place now, also heats and cools faster than moist air (i.e. humid weather).

Changes are ahead though. Clouds will increase on Sunday, with rain arriving at night. Off/on rain will continue Monday as it becomes breezy and a bit humid. We'll stay somewhat unsettled straight through midweek.
