St. Albans, VT -- The BFA-St. Albans Connor Brothers, Mark and Ryan are the ABC22/FOX 44 Athletes of the Week. Ryan, the ace of the rotation thriving in his senior year. And Mark, a younger player growing into his game. Together, they're leading the Bobwhites to one of the best seasons in program history, making them this week's athletes of the week.

"We definitely like to [play together]," Ryan told ABC22/FOX44. "We play wiffle ball together in the backyard, we go to the batting cage together sometimes, throw together. It's fun."

The sibling rivalry translates into sibling success on the field. Especially for Ryan this year, who's left his mark as one of the best starters in Vermont.

"If I can go out and give quality starts, ground balls, a few strikeouts here and there, fly balls and do my job at the plate then I think that gives us the best chance to win and I think that's the way it's been working out this season." Ryan said.

And it hasn't just been a few strikeouts here and there. Ryan has recorded a no-hitter, and a pair of one hit complete games this season. His younger brother Mark uses his older brother's success to motivate him.

"Oh it totally motivates me to be better as a person and as a player." said Mark. "Because he's a great student athlete. I look up to him."

Head Coach Geoff Murray appreciates what the Connors bring to his team both on and off the field.

"They have a real work ethic and love for baseball. They do things the right way off the field, in the classroom, and that combination has served them well.
They're team players, and they're just a joy to have around."
