Act Now to Save on Ski Season

Now's the time to act if you're hoping to save big bucks on ski season.
WARREN, Vt. - At Sugarbush, the countdown to winter is on.

"It's really only 71 days until we start making snow, so its not that far away," Sugarbush Owner Win Smith said.

And for skiers eager to hit the slopes, now's the time to snag discounted season passes.

"Right now, we offer our early season pass prices that are good until September 10, and there's some great values out there," Smith added.

The best value at Sugarbush is the new Mid-week Boomer pass. It's just $99, and is geared towards those 65 and older who are still active, like Smith.

"Most of my friends and peers feel the same way, We're not ready for retirement. We're not inactive, but I want more of my peers skiing here," he said.

At nearby Bolton Valley there are plenty of deals too. Most stretch through September 15.

"A family of four, if they buy now versus after September 15, can save around $160," Josh Arneson of Bolton Valley said.

College students get a little longer to enjoy savings on their Ski Bum pass.

"That is on sale for $159 until October 31," he said.

But what good are discounted passes if you don't have the right gear? Fortunately there are some steals for that coming up soon too.

The Burton Summer Sale, going through Sunday in Burlington, is one option.

If you don't find what you need there, Bolton Valley has you covered Labor Day Weekend.

"We'll have a million dollars in inventory of skis, boards, and other accessories right here at Bolton Valley,” Arneson said.
