Board: CCTA Free After Strike

The CCTA Board of Commissioners voted to offer free bus service through mid-April after a three week strike.
SHELBURNE, Vt. - Following a three week driver strike, the Chittenden County Transportation Authority will be offering free bus service for a time this month.

The decision was made Thursday afternoon by the CCTA Board of Commissioners.

According to the Board, offering free service will offset some of the economic hardship endured by its customers during the strike.

Between Friday April 4, when service resumes, and Sunday April 13 all CCTA buses will be fare free.

Montpelier LINK customers will receive vouchers during this time.

If you have a monthly pass that lost value during the strike, you will also be able to exchange it for a new one.
