ALBANY, N.Y. - Thousands of people in the North Country will soon have access to broadband Internet.
A $9 million grant is helping make it possible.
Broadband is expanding to 33,000 homes and 4,500 businesses.
Governor Andrew Cuomo released details on Friday. The North Country will see a little more than $3 million.
Essex county will be receiving expand service. The bulk of the money will go to expand publc safety services for the entire North Country public emergency network.
