Brutal Winter Provides More Records!

Record low temperatures were once again shattered across northern New England and New York.
Winter weather won't let up across the Northeast.

Monday morning's temperatures were brutal to say the least, especially to those burdened by high heating costs and others who had to work outside on another frigid day. For the winter related economy it was another beautiful day with all natural snow that was not going anywhere anytime too quickly.

Several more record low temperatures were broken Sunday night into Monday, including two record lows for Massena, New York (one for Sunday, one for Monday). Monday morning's temperatures dipped to -11F in Massena, NY (new record), -6F in Montpelier, VT (new record), and -4F in Lebanon, NH (new record). The coldest spots were far northern NY/VT/NH where temperatures plummeted to -25F in Saranac Lake, NY and -20F in Gallup Mills, VT as well as Sherbrooke, Quebec.

Burlington, Vermont bottomed out at 1F, no record for the date but more than 20 degrees colder than average for a nighttime low. Meteorologist Steve Glazier encourages you not to give up on your local meteorologist. That's because he, alongside Kerrin Jeromin and Michael Page are predicting warmer weather on the horizon. Just how warm you may say? The SkyTracker team has 40 degree weather (during the daytime) and 20s/30s at night from Friday and into early April. And that's no April Fool's joke!
