BURLINGTON, Vt. - Another airport commission meeting was held Wednesday afternoon and still no progress with Burlington's taxi issue.
The city attorney's office has been given an extension from the mayor to put together it's recommendation.
In January, the airport commission wrote a letter to the city asking to be relinquished of overseeing the city's taxi industry.
Right now, taxi licenses at the airport are enforced. The same cannot be said for downtown taxis.
There isn't a taxi department in the city to enforce who you get in a cab with.
"There are a lot of people with a lot of input into it and finding and piecing out the various financial pieces that go in, that's also a challenge," Eileen Blackwood, Burlington City Attorney, said.
Blackwood expects to have the office's recommendation ready for the next airport commission meeting next month.
