Business Group Wants Federal Minimum Wage Raised

A business group wants to see the federal minimum wage raised.
Who isn't looking for a little extra cash these days? A pay raise would be nice wouldn't it? Well, there is a new effort that could help.

A group of business owners is looking to introduce the Fair Minimum Wage Act of 2013.

Right now, minimum wage is $7.25.

This group wants to see it raised to $10.10 over the next 3 years.

There would be yearly increases, including adjustments for inflation.

It's been 4 years since the last federal minimum wage increase.

Locally, Vermont just saw an increase at the beginning of the year bringing it to $8.60. In New Hampshire, the last raise was in 2012 and stands at $7.25. New York workers are gearing up for an increase by the end of this year to $8 an hour.
