Climate Report Predicts More Warming, Floods

A new climate report predicts warmer temperatures and more floods by the end of the century.
COLCHESTER, Vt. - The National Climate Assessment came out yesterday. Hundreds of scientists contributed to the report, which says the world is still warming, and it’s mostly caused by humans. The scientists say if only natural factors were impacting the climate, in other words, if humans had no impact, the Earth would be cooling due to solar and volcanic activity.

The report also says temperatures will rise another 2 to 8 degrees by century's end, and that heavy, flooding rain events will become more common here in the northeast.

Vermont's response to Irene was included as well.

The document says while Irene can't be completely blamed on climate change, it's a "teachable moment" for the future as storms become more impactful.
