Colin Gillis Missing For 2 Years, Police Still Looking For Answers

A New York teen has been missing for two years and police are still looking for answers.
TUPPER LAKE, N.Y. - A New York teen has been missing for two years and police are still looking for answers. 

A press release says the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations continues to sort through leads in the disappearance of Colin Gillis. There currently is limited search of the woods and water near where Gillis was last seen. 

Gillis was last seen walking home from a party on NY State Route 3 in the early morning hours of March 11, 2012. Police say a motorist reported a pedestrian walking along Route 3 to the Tupper Lake Police Department. State Police were notified and searched the area, but weren't able to locate Gillis. 

Family and friends began to search for Gillis on March 11, 2012 when he didn't return home. Police say they found property belonging to Gillis during the initial stages of the search along State Route 3, near the St. Lawrence-Franklin county line.

Gillis was last seen wearing a white American Eagle v-neck shirt with black stripes and short sleeves blue cut jeans and red Nike Air high top sneakers. He may have also been wearing a reversible black or red L.L. Bean coat and carrying an orange and black day pack. Gillis is 6'0 tall and weighs approximately 170 pounds.

Anyone who may have information about someone who witnessed Colin Gillis or interacted with him on State Route 3 to contact the State Police BCI Unit in Ray Brook at 518-897-2000. 

The Gillis family is offering a $25,000 reward to anyone that provides relevant and useful information that leads to the location of Colin Gillis.
