Vending machines rarely give you money, but that's exactly what happens at South Burlington's University Mall. The Eco ATM, located near the food court, offers people a way to recycle old electronic devices while getting cash in return.

You can get up to $250 for recycling your old cell phones, mp3 players, and tablets. So far it's been a big hit!

Jamie Polli of the University Mall says, "often times there is a small little line here to use the machine, its been piquing the curiosity of many folks here in the mall."

Sellers using the machine are asked to volunteer basic personal information during the process, such as a driver's license. This helps prevent the sale of stolen items.

Sellers are also advised to wipe any personal information from their devices before using the machine.
