Federal Funding to Help Upstate NY Rural Hospitals & Ambulance Providers

Federal funding to help Upstate New York rural hospitals and ambulance providers through April 2015 passed the U.S. Senate Tuesday.
WASHINGTON - Federal funding to help Upstate New York rural hospitals and ambulance providers through April 2015 passed the U.S. Senate Tuesday.

A press release says the bill would extend Medicare payments to 21 rural upstate New York hospitals and payments to ambulance service providers as part of the Sustainable Growth Rate or "Doc Fix" legislation.

"With this funding in place, these lifesaving programs can continue to ensure that Upstate New York residents can receive top-notch health and emergency care, and that our hospitals and ambulance providers are fairly compensated for their work," Sen. Chuck Schumer (D) said.
