Investigators are trying to figure out what started a fire that destroyed a building in Waterbury Tuesday morning.

Waterbury Fire Chief Gary Dillon says the first emergency call came in just after 5 a.m. When crews arrived minutes later the building was completely in flames.

The building, located at 26 Stowe Street, is a restaurant, however, Chief Dillon said it was unknown if it was even open for business.

Firefighters were able to stop the blaze from spreading to neighboring buildings.

No injuries were reported. The cause remains under investigation.
