Flooding Closes Part of VT-14

Flooding from an ice jam closed parts of Route 14 Sunday evening.
WILLIAMSTOWN, Vt. - Part of Vermont route 14 in Williamstown was closed due to flooding Sunday evening.

Vermont State Police said fire officials were on scene to monitor the flooding around 6 P.M. Sunday, hours after heavy rain drenched the area.

The flooding originated from an ice jam on a nearby river.

The road was reopened by 8:30 P.M. Sunday night.

A Flood Watch remains in effect for much of Southern and Central Vermont until Monday morning as more ice jam related flooding is possible.
