Former Cambridge Fire Chief Laid to Rest Monday

A devoted member of Cambridge and one of Vermont's bravest, was laid to rest on Monday.
CAMBRIDGE, Vt. - A devoted member of Cambridge and one of Vermont's bravest, was laid to rest on Monday.

A full fire department funeral was held this afternoon for 66-year-old Howard Cary. He was honorary chief of the Cambridge Fire Department. His son Alan is the current chief.

Cary died unexpectedly last Tuesday. He served the area for 50 years as a firefighter, officer, mentor, and friend.

Cary was named fire chief of the year in 1997.
