Former Vt. Gov. Dean Talks About Obamacare

BURLINGTON, Vt. - Despite the troubles with the rollout of Obamacare, former Vermont Governor Howard Dean says the program is now working.

On Monday, Dean spoke about Obamacare at UVM.

Just last week was the deadline to sign up or potentially face fines. More than seven million people signed up.

Dean says that's part of why republicans will actually have a hard time getting rid of Obamacare now.

"The republicans aren't going to be able to turn this around. They are going to, it's not just seven-and a half million people signed up for the exchanges. It's also millions of people who have gotten Medicare, Medicaid expansion, excuse me, including many right in this state," says Dean.

Dean says problems with the rollout of the health care websites, including Vermont Health Connect, were to be expected.

He says big tech projects usually run into delays and extra costs.
