SHELDON, Vt.- A concert this weekend raises awareness about the need for organ donors in Vermont. It’s called The “O” Show and it pays tribute to Brooke Ostrander, a teacher from Missisquoi Valley Union High School that died in 2011.
Those that knew Ostrander said that he was more than a teacher but a life coach. Ostrander taught students that have become professionals in music, theater and television. The “O” Show concert is to honor Ostrander’s life through his passion, music.
The concert also supports Donate Life Vermont by donating all the proceeds from the concert to the non-profit organization. There are roughly 21 percent of Vermonters that are registered organ donors, so the goal of this group is to raise awareness about the need for organ donors in Vermont.
This year The “O” Show starts a 3pm and features past students of Brooke's and musicians from all over. At 7pm the main performance begins. You can expect to see guitarists, American Idol semifinalist Ayla Brown and Jay Taylor who was on The Voice.
Tickets are $20 at the gate the day of the show. One ticket per person is required to attend. Children under 12 are free.
The “O” Show is at the Abbey Pavilion in Sheldon, Vermont.
