Gov. Andrew Cuomo Leading Astorino by 30 Points

New poll numbers shows Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) is leading opponent Rob Astorino (R) by 30 points in November's gubernatorial race.
Loudonville, N.Y. - New poll numbers show Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) is leading opponent Rob Astorino (R) by 30 points in November's gubernatorial race.

The poll was conducted by the Siena Research Institute at Siena College.

58% of those polled picked Gov. Cuomo, and 28% went with Astorino, the current Westchester County Executive.

However, Cuomo's lead dropped to 15 points when an unknown Working Families Party candidate was thrown into the mix. If a more progressive candidate were to run, the poll showed 39% for Cuomo, 24% for Astornio and 24% for the unknown Working Families candidate.

84% of those polled said corruption in Albany was a problem, but less than one-third have followed the Moreland Commission, which was formed to investigate that corruption. Even fewer people (less than one-quarter) knew about the disbanding of the commission, after the Moreland Act was passed.
