Head-On Crash After Driver Distracted by Puppy

A Vermont man crashed his car after becoming distracted by a puppy.
BRADFORD, Vt. - A driver was sent to the hospital after a head-on crash, and police say a puppy is partially to blame.

A 39 year old Bradford man veered off Goshen Road just after 9 A.M. Sunday. Police say the car sideswiped a telephone pole before colliding head on with a tree.

The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, apparently became distracted by a puppy sitting on his lap just before the crash.

The car was totaled, and the operator was transported to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

There was no word on whether the puppy was injured in the crash.
