COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College men's ice hockey first-year Josh Dickman (Kapaa, Hawaii/Saint Paul's School) was named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) East Rookie of the Week for the week ending on Sunday, Dec. 8. Dickman and junior Dave Donzanti (West Chester, Pa./Northfield Mount Hermon) were also both named to the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll.
Dickman scored twice over the weekend, tallying with 2:05 left in the second period against Castleton State to bring his team within 3-2 before netting the first goal 8:30 into the tie with Skidmore. Dickman is tied for second on the team with three goals, having scored in three of his past five games. He is also tied for second in the NE-10 in goals by first-years, and tied for eighth in the ECAC East in the same category.
Donzanti posted a 2.85 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage during an 0-1-1 weekend. In a 4-3 overtime loss to Castleton State College on Friday, he kept his team in the game thanks to 33 saves in a contest where Saint Michael's was outshot 37-14, making 13 stops alone in a shutout third period. During a 2-2 tie with Skidmore College on Saturday, he had 29 saves, including turning aside all six shots on goal in overtime. Donzanti has appeared in a career-high seven games, including six starts, while posting a 3.60 GAA and 30.3 saves per game.
Saint Michael's concluded the first semester 0-7-1 overall, 0-6-1 in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) East and 0-1 in the NE-10. It returns to action at the Middlebury College Holiday Classic on Jan. 3-4, taking on the nationally-regarded hosts during the opening day at 7 p.m. The Panthers received votes toward last week's U.S. College Hockey Online (USCHO) Division III national poll.
