Lake Champlain Maritime Festival Date, Events Announced

Lake Champlain Maritime Festival will be held at Burlington's Waterfront Park August 7-10.
BURLINGTON, Vt. - Lake Champlain Maritime Festival will be held at Burlington's Waterfront Park August 7-10. 

A press release says the festival, a four day celebration of Lake Champlain, will showcase hundreds of exhibits throughout sites on the Burlington Waterfront. Other activities include Lake Champlain Antique & Classic Boat Show, Pirate 5K Run/Walk, Stand Up for the Lake, Free Concert Series, food, concerts, beer tent, and more. 

Daily admission is free to most events is free, but some events require admission. 

“What really makes The Lake Champlain Maritime Festival special is that it offers something for everyone; it is a dynamic celebration for children, families and adults of all ages,” says Tara Perkins, Festival Spokesperson and Director of Public Relations.

The Lake Champlain 29th Antique and Classic Boat Show and Parade
The Lake Champlain Antique and Classic Boat Society 29th Annual Vintage Boat Show returns to the Lake Champlain Maritime Festival, Saturday, August 9. More than 45 boats are on exhibit from Vermont, New York and as far away as New Jersey, Connecticut and Maine. Exhibits in most cases are planned by boat manufacture and/or by type of boat. The Lake Champlain Chapter practices skipper judging with judges and skippers voting for their favorite boat in their respective class (Cruiser/Outboard/Utility/Runabout/Sail and more) and during the course of the day boat owners will be available to answer any questions. Attendees have the opportunity to vote for the People’s Choice Award with ballots available at the registration tent.

Time: 8-10:00 a.m., Registration, Burlington Boat House | 10:00 a.m., Skippers Meeting, upstairs at Splash | 10 a.m.- 4 p.m., Boat Exhibits and Demonstrations, Burlington Boat House | 4 p.m., Boat Parade, Burlington Boat House Boat Parade, Burlington Boat House LCACBS Boat Classifications.
Historic: A boat built up to and including 1918.
Antique: A boat built between 1919 and 1942, inclusive.
Classic: A boat built between 1943 and 1975, inclusive. These age classifications apply to both boats and motors.
Early Contemporary: A wooden boat built 1976 to 1986.
Late Contemporary: A wooden boat built within the last 25 years.
