U.S. News compiled a list of the top 10 colleges where out-of-state students pay the most.
WASHINGTON - U.S. News compiled a list of the top 10 colleges where out-of-state students pay the most. 

According to College Board, the average out-of-state tuition and fees at public 4 year institutions rose 3.1% between the 2012-2013 school year and the following year.

Here are the following 10 schools with the most expensive out-of-state tuition and fees from U.S. News. 
  1. University of Michigan - Ann Arbor: $40,496
  2. University of Virginia: $39,844
  3. College of William and Mary (VA): $37,852
  4. University of California - Irvine: $37,566
  5. University of California - Davis: $36,774
  6. University of Vermont: $36,646
  7. University of California - Santa Barbara: $36,624
  8. University of California - Santa Cruz: $36,294
  9. University of California - Riverside: $35,838
  10. University of California - Los Angeles: $35,574
