MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - A man accused of shooting his neighbors and two state troopers earlier in April pleaded not guilty on Thursday.
Timothy Foley, 47, was due in court on Monday, April 7 for his arraignment, but he refused show up.
Foley is being charged with two counts of attempted murder and two counts of aggravated attempted murder.
According to court documents, he unlawfully entered Mahlon and Joyce McCoy's home, and fired a shotgun at the two, striking 65-year-old Mahlon McCoy on the right side of his face.
Shortly after the shooting, Foley barricaded himself in his home across the street. When police responded, they say, Foley began shooting at them from inside his house. Two troopers were shot in the head with shotgun pellets.
Foley appeared in Addison Criminal Court in Middlebury.
