Man Accused of Shooting Woman in Reported Road Rage Incident Pleads Not Guilty

The man accused of killing 31-year-old Anna Alger pleaded not guilty in court Thursday morning.
ST. ALBANS, Vt. - The man accused of killing 31-year-old Anna Alger pleaded not guilty in court Thursday morning.

reports Matthew Webster, 30, of St. Albans, Vt. will be held without bail on charges of second degree murder.

The prosecution said that 6 shots hit Alger in Wednesday's shooting. Alger was transported to Northwest Medical Center where she later died from her injuries.

Prior to the incident, Webster ran a red light, almost hitting Alger's car. Alger followed Webster and after the two pulled over, there was an argument. Police say Webster then shot Alger several times.

The prosecution said Webster had 3 guns on him at the time of the shooting.
