Man Hospitalized After Being Shot in Buttocks

ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. - Police are investigating an overnight incident that left one man shot in his left buttock.

Rafael Rodriguez, 26, was transported to Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital after being shot around 11:40 p.m. Tuesday night. He remained hospitalized as of Wednesday morning, but police would not comment on the severity of his injuries.

Officials believe the shooting, which occurred at 405 River Road, is an isolated incident and does not pose a risk to the public.

Late Wednesday afternoon police announced Juan Rodriguez, 46, of Cabot is wanted in connection with the case. The victim and the suspect are not related.

An arrest warrant was issued for Juan Rodriguez, and includes the charge of attempted murder. Anyone with information on where he is should call St. Johnsbury Police at (802)-748-2314.
