MONTPELIER, Vt. - The City of Montpelier is asking residents and business owners to prepare for potential flooding.
A press release says with the warm temperatures on Monday and heavy rains in the forecast, there is a threat for flooding along the North Branch of the Winooski River. This could result in basement flooding for properties located on Elm, Langdon, and Main Streets.
Residents and business owners should remove items from the basement and prepare for possible electrical issues if the river floods.
The city says they will continue to monitor the situation and may activate the city's Emergency Operation Center if needed.
