More Than 800 Runners Expected for Middlebury Maple Run

More than 800 runners are expected for the Middlebury Maple run on May 3-4.
MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - More than 800 runners are expected for the Middlebury Maple run on May 3-4.

A press release says proceeds will go to local charities. More than 30 non-profits from Addison County applied for funding and eight were selected:
  • Open Door Clinic
  • Addison County Parent Child Center
  • HOPE
  • Homeward Bound: Addison County's Humane Society
  • Bonnie's Book Foundation
  • Otter Creek Audubon Society
  • Foxcroft Farm Harvest Program
  • Middlebury Congregational Church
Proceeds will also be distributed to Girls on the Run, the Middlebury Police Department and the Middlebury Regional EMS.

There is still time to register to participate in the race. Runners can register online until 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 1. Registration will be accepted in-person at the Middlebury Inn from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 3 or at the start/finish area the morning of the race from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m.

A press release says the cost to participate for students is $40 per person/$50 team. For non-students the cost is $60 per person/$80 team.
