NH Considering Bill Declaring Human Life Begins at Conception

The New Hampshire House is considering legislation that would declare human life begins at conception.
CONCORD, N.H. - The New Hampshire House is considering legislation that would declare human life begins at conception.

The bill says that with changing and evolving technology, there is an increased number of babies at risk for termination.

"There is  significant scientific evidence which supports the premise that a human life begins at conception," Rep. Lenette M. Peterson (R-Hillsborough) said.  "According to basic embryology and fetology, a biological human life exists from the moment of fertilization as the creation  of a completed and unique strand of genetic material (DNA) is present.

The bill now heads to the House floor on Wednesday.

The bill would go into effect 60 days after passage.
