WILLISTON, Vt. - Our region is full of volunteers and a local organization wants to make a salute to senior service. Home Instead Senior Care is behind the contest.
You've got to be 65 or older and dedicate at least 15 hours a month to volunteer work.
Vermont has 4 nominees and FOX 44 and ABC 22 met up with one of them on Monday. Dr. Dan bean has spent more than a decade helping out the Alzheimer's Association and it shows.
"Dan has been there for each and every project I have brought up to him - all I have to say is I have an idea and he runs with it," Martha Richardson, Vermont Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, said.
"You feel good when you do it, you meet people with similar goals that you do, but it feels good to be able to help somebody," Bean said.
It's not too late to vote, you have until March 1. Vote for your favorite senior citizen.
New York and New Hampshire have some great nominees too! The winner will be announced in April.
