MONTPELIER, Vt. - Birds, bugs and other critters can all be seen up close at the North Branch Nature Center. The 28-acre reserve is based along the Winooski River and holds camps for children ages four to 14.
The last week of camp is coming up and after school programs start in September. Kids can explore moths, birds, and other animals with help from teachers and naturalists.
Camps are educational and also give children the chance to get outside and be creative. The camp is also holding a “Bio-thon” on August 19. This event challenges you to identify as many bugs, birds, and all types of organisms in just 24 hours.
The event is a fundraiser but also is a great way to observe creatures in nature. You can sign up on their website for the Bio-thon, camps and after school programs.
