SYRACUSE, N.Y. - A Cicero, N.Y. man who raped a young girl and murdered a Liverpool school district librarian was sentenced on separate child pornography charges on Wednesday.
David Renz had already been arrested on Federal child pornography charges when he stabbed Lori Bresnahan to death and raped the little girl.
He was sentenced to 30 years in prison in connection to the child pornography case.
During the sentencing, it was revealed that Renz had 11,000 image of child pornography in his possession, along with 1,000 videos.
Renz was on pre-trial release last year for the Federal child pornography charges and he was given an ankle monitoring bracelet. Renz tampered with the bracelet dozens of times before finally breaking it off the night of March 14, 2013.
That night, he kidnapped Bresnahan and the little girl who was with her. He raped the child and killed Bresnahan.
Renz is scheduled to be sentenced in State Court in May for the rape and murder.
His plea deal calls for life without parole.
He can withdraw the plea on those charges if prosecutors decide to pursue the death penalty. U.S. Attorney Eric Holder is still weighing the decision.
