MOOERS, N.Y. - Mooers Elementary School will be back open Tuesday following air quality concerns. School was cancelled on Monday as a precaution.
On Friday afternoon, the school learned a building that had been demolished about two blocks away, was found to have asbestos. Because the school's air system pulls fresh air in from outside, all outdoor activities had to be cancelled.
An independent company did several tests over the weekend and no asbestos was found in the air.
The town is going to cover the debris where the asbestos was found.
Crews won't move it until kids go on summer break.
