NYSP Find Active Meth Lab During Domestic Dispute Investigation

New York State Police say they found an active meth lab while investigating a domestic dispute in Chazy.
CHAZY, N.Y. - New York State Police say they found an active meth lab while investigating a domestic dispute in Chazy.

A press release says when police arrived to a residence on Ridge Road, they found Ashley Castine, 28, and Richard Welch, 30, cooking methamphetamine. Castine and Welch's two year old child was also present at the home.  

Both were charged with 3rd degree unlawfully manufacturing methamphetamine, endangering the welfare of a child, and possession of a hypodermic instrument. 

Castine and Welch were arraigned in the Town of Chazy Court and were remanded to Clinton County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond. 

Police say the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
