Officers Assaulted During Inmate Fight at Franklin Correctional Facility

Three correctional officers were injured after trying to break up a fight between two inmates at the Franklin Correctional Facility Monday morning
MALONE, N.Y. - Three correctional officers were injured after trying to break up a fight between two inmates at the Franklin Correctional Facility Monday morning. 

The New York Department of Corrections says two of the officers were treated for  minor injuries. They were treated and released from the a local hospital. A third officer remained on duty. 

A press release from the New York State Correctional Officers & Police Benevolent Association, Inc. says the inmates involved in the fight were 34-year-old Bobby Perrry and 23-year-old William Marcano. Perry is serving a five year sentence after being convicted for robbery 2nd in New York County in 2010. Marcano is serving a two year sentence after being convicted for Attempted Burglary 2nd in Queens County in 2011. 
 
The NY Department of Corrections says this was the second assault on staff in 2014. The Franklin inmate population count is currently at 1,656. The total capacity of the facility is 1,730.
