Pipeline Expansion Open House

Pipeline Expansion Open House

A night after a hearing was held on Phase Two of the pipeline expansion, an open house on Phase Three is held.
BRANDON, Vt. - Vermont Gas is hosting an open house to discuss phase three of the Addison-Rutland County natural gas pipeline expansion.

That would take it all the way to Rutland.

Vermont Gas says some thirteen thousand customers could hook up to the system if that's approved.

The event is being held Thursday night from 5-8 PM at Otter Valley Union High School in Brandon.

Steve Wark of Vermont Gas Systems says, “it’s an opportunity for people to walk around to the different topic tables and learn about conversion costs, for example, learn about environmental aspects, to learn about safety.”

On Wednesday night, a Public Service Board hearing on phase two of the project drew a huge crowd in Shoreham.

Phase two, which takes the pipeline from Middlebury, under Lake Champlain, to Ticonderoga, still needs to be approved before phase three can be considered.
