CABOT, Vt. - Vermont State Police identified the 10-year-old boy that died from a gunshot wound on Saturday.
Police say Logan Cookson died as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound from a .22 caliber revolver. Cookson was hunting and family members were nearby.
Police responded to a report of an accidental shooting at a residence on Route 215 North at around 5 p.m. on Saturday.
Logan was transported to Central Vermont Hospital where he died.
The case will be sent to the Washington County State's Attorney's Office for review once the investigation is complete.
