ALBANY, N.Y. - A New York State Department of Labor Employee is accused of stealing unemployment benefits while still being employed.
New York State Police say Scott St. John, 28, of Morrisonville, N.Y., stole $5,382.75 in unemployment benefits. He is being charged with 3rd degree grand larceny, 1st degree falsifying business records, and 1st degree offering a false instrument for filing.
St. John was arraigned in the Town of Schuyler Falls court. He was released under the pre-trial release program.
Police say they are working with the New York State Department of Labor in the investigation.
