WESTPORT, N.Y. - A teenage boy was burned from a campfire in a seasonal portion of Mountain Spring Road Thursday morning. The incident happened at around 11 a.m.
New York State Police say four juveniles were camping in a wooded area on the south side of North Pond when a can of an unknown accelerant exploded by a campfire.
A15-year-old boy received burns to his left hand, right eye, both legs, and face.
The boy was transported to Elizabethtown Community Hospital and was later flown to Fletcher Allen Healthcare.
The investigation is ongoing.
