Pumpkin Patch Goes Pink for Breast Cancer

The Barnyard Farmstand on Mill Pond Road did something special this year.
COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Barnyard Farmstand on Mill Pond Road did something special this year.

The side-of-the-road vegetable stand grew pink pumpkins to sell--with every penny of the proceeds to be donated to breast cancer research.

Pete Brigante, one of the owners, says the disease has personally affected his family.

"It's really nice to give back," Brigante said. "Everybody's affected by cancer, and we thought it was a really good cause."

The stand is making a $2,000 donation--which is a quarter of the $8,000 they make in the season.

If you don't have your pumpkin yet--the stand will be open until Halloween!
