'Random Acts of Camping' at VT State Parks

Here's another chance to visit a Vermont State Park free of charge.

WATERBURY, Vt.- Vermont Days was a huge success.

There were 23,000 visitors compared to last year's 11,000.

Here's another chance to visit a Vermont State Park free of charge.

Vermont State Parks is launching a new promotion called 'Random Acts of Camping.'

It rewards lucky visitors with two free nights of their choice to tent, RV, or stay in cabin at a state park.

It's a way to increase statewide accessibility to camping, and foster a life-long love of the outdoors.

"We can get out and enjoy the wilderness and the beautiful vermont surroundings and do some fishing and outdoor activities and I think its really good for the kids to get into that," said Jeremy Miller, Contest Winner.

One winner is chosen at random by park staff every weekend from June 21 to August 3, weather permitting.

To find out how to enter the contest, the giveaway is going on at the Waterbury Center, Lake Shaftsbury, Sand Bar, Boulder Beach, Mt. Philo, Camp Plymouth, and Crystal Lake.
