Rash of Thefts in Northern Vermont

Vermont State Police say thieves were busy Monday night in Northern Vermont.
SOUTH HERO, Vt. - Vermont State Police say thieves were busy Monday night in Northern Vermont.

On Sunset View Road in South Hero, police say three homes were hit after midnight.

Other homes and garages in Grand Isle and Isle La Motte were also broken into.

Police believe this is connected to similar incidents in Fairfax last month. People are being urged to take precautions.

"We are asking residents to number one, keep their doors locked on their cars. That seems to be a recurring theme. If they're unlocked, they're getting victimized. If there's any motion detection lights you can put on outside your house, dead bolts," says Trooper John Bruzzi, Vermont State Police.

Police are asking people to report any suspicious behavior.
