PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. - A Healthgrades report names CVPH one of America's top 100 best hospitals for cardiac care.
A press release says the findings were released in the American Hospital Quality Outcomes 2014: Healthgrades Report to the Nation. The report found CVPH's outcomes are better than expected when treating a condition or conducting a procedure.
“We’ve had to make some tough decisions recently regarding our heart program," Stephens Mundy, president and CEO of CVPH Medical Center said. "While we have moved what will be approximately 100 open heart surgery cases a year to Fletcher Allen to align our services to better meet the needs of the region we serve, we are happy to let the community know that the rest of our cardiac program is thriving. The Champlain Valley Heart Center at CVPH continues to excel and is among the best in the nation. We are lucky to have such an exceptional cardiac program here in the North Country.”
The study evaluated 4,500 hospitals nationwide for 31 of the most common inpatient procedures and conditions. One hundred of the best hospitals were identified within each procedure.
