WASHINGTON - The U.S. House Veterans Affairs Committee will hold a hearing Monday to examine the Veterans Affairs efforts to end a long backlog of claims.
The agency's goal is to catch up with all disability claims by next year.
The Washington Post reports that lawmakers are likely to focus on the latest VA claims data, which is due for release hours before the hearing.
The VA department has faced intense scrutiny recently over reports of delays in medical care for veterans.
